Shoeburyness High School’s students, staff, parents and wider community celebrated an exceptional Ofsted report.

It follows a full Section 5 inspection carried out by a team of 5 Inspectors and a Senior HMI on the 15th and 16th November 2017.

The school, which has already had the accolade of being one of a small number of schools nationally to be invited by the DfE and the National Schools’ Commissioner, Sir David Carter, to share its good practice this year, has been awarded a “Good with Outstanding” judgement.

The Inspectors found that “Leaders have developed a culture and ethos that celebrates success.” Commenting on the students, they found that their “Behaviour is outstanding because pupils conduct themselves impeccably.” And that “Pupils enjoy coming to school.”

Amongst the hugely positive comments in the report they said “Personal welfare and development is outstanding.  Pupils are confident, resilient and successful learners.”

The endorsement of just how good this report was for the school is that the only targets were to raise standards further for some Sixth Form students and to provide more opportunities to share good practice amongst teachers.

As we say at Shoeburyness “People make a difference and our fantastic young people, staff and parents are certainly doing that”.
