Child Development

You will learn about the needs of pre-school children and the best ways in which these can be met, investigate theories and concepts regarding how we develop, and consider their practical application in the caring professions. You can then broaden your experiences from the National Award at key stage 4 (Cambridge) into the Technical Award in Health and Social Care (level 3 - Cambridge) in years 12 and 13, where you will get a chance to apply communication and relationship building skills in a practical way.

You may like to read the documents below to discover the specific topics and skills covered by the Social Sciences department and the order in which you will study them as you go through the school.
